Those are the type of things that people need to start listing here about Kendrick if they want to truly make a case for him being "beyond Tupac" or on a "Michael Jackson level or importance". See, those are simple examples of facts that show the reach that said artist has in this world. It takes a lot of influence to be able to brand a whole city, and have that nickname actually become legit, but I wouldn't expect less from an artist who was also responsible for the highest grossing Hip Hop tour of all time. Toronto is now known as "The 6ix" (I refuse to call it that ) because of Drake. They at least transcend from Hip Hop culture into mainstream pop culture all around the world though. Kanye and Drake are currently the closest artists in Hip Hop to a "Michael Jackson level of importance", and respectfully, even they fall short of that level. His reach outside of Hip Hop isn't big, if it even truly exists. Kendrick is not on that level yet, and there is no telling if he will ever have the opportunity to be. In order for someone to be Michael Jackson important, you should be able to walk up to anyone on the street in different major cities in this world and most of them, if not all, would know who he is and have heard some of his music, whether they're Hip Hop fans or not. He isn't even "Taylor Swift important" to be honest. Kendrick is certainly not "Michael Jackson important" either. during a time when the Hip Hop game was saturated with a lot of really good artists.
As influential as Kendrick currently is, his impact on things today doesn't come close to the impact that artists like Tupac and Big had on not just Hip Hop but mainstream pop culture in general. first you said he does understatement and then you say he is michael jackson like. Michael Jackson Like? Oh no, this comparison is not even fair.
