Try setting legendaryheroes.exe to use Windows 7 compatibility mode. Click the Gear icon in the Steam Library, go to Properties -> Local Files and Verify Files. (Special shout out to MiyabiSFG for letting me know about this one.) If you can't access this in-game via the options, you can manually set it using Notepad by opening Prefs.ini in Documents\My Games\legendaryheroes and changing HardwareMouseCursor=0 to HardwareMouseCursor=1 This has actually worked for a number of folks. 
Try setting 'Hardware Mouse Cursor" to On.If you're crashing on launch, here's some common things to try to fix it (in no particular order):
